Getting Ready to Rent

We highly recommend reserving in advance to ensure availability — especially on weekends and holidays. Walk-ins are welcome, but we cannot always guarantee a boat will be available.

Give us a call with your preferred date, the number of people, your estimated time of arrival, and a credit card number for the security deposit.

Yes. A valid driver’s licence is required at the time of rental registration, and renters must be over 21 years old.

No. If you do not have one, we can issue a temporary one-day Pleasure Craft Operator certificate, provided you are over 21 and hold a valid driver’s licence. Before issuing it we run a brief session covering boating safety, along with a practical demonstration.

Everything you need for a safe day on the water:

  • A temporary boating licence, if you do not hold a Pleasure Craft Operator Card
  • A safety briefing and onboard safety check
  • Life jackets for everyone on board
  • A pair of paddles and an anchor
  • A safety kit with flashlight, whistle and float loop
  • Parking for one vehicle

No, there is no insurance to add on. The driver of the boat is fully responsible for any damage, loss or injuries that occur during the rental period.

Food, Drinks & Nature Calls

A hand wash station, portable toilets, and an extended deck area at the shoreline for a lunch break.

No open flames are allowed on the boat.

No. Just like with cars, Ontario law prohibits operating a boat while under the influence of alcohol.

Yes — a five-minute walk away in the town of Bewdley you will find two restaurants and a pizza place.

Rental Details

Yes, parking is available for our customers. Each boat rental includes one parking spot.

Yes, well-behaved dogs of all sizes are welcome. For everyone’s safety and comfort dogs must be kept on a leash and accompanied by a responsible adult who can clean up after them while on land. A $10 pet cleaning fee applies.

No, our boats are not permitted to leave Rice Lake.
